THE JET WASH FELLA – EXTERNAL CLEANING SERVICE

Professional Jet Washing & Exterior Cleaning Sussex & Surrey
Hi, I’m Matthew — The Jet Wash Fella.
I provide professional jet washing and exterior cleaning services across Crawley, West Sussex, Surrey and surrounding areas, working with both homeowners and businesses.
With around 20 years of experience cleaning exterior surfaces, I’ve learned that getting a good result isn’t simply about using the most powerful pressure washer. Different surfaces need different cleaning methods, products and levels of pressure.
I clean everything from driveways, patios and decking to roofs, conservatories, swimming pool surrounds and commercial car parks. I also carry out specialist cleaning where surfaces need a more careful approach, including natural sandstone and other materials that require controlled cleaning.
Before starting a job, I look at the surface, its condition and the type of contamination present so I can choose an appropriate cleaning method. Depending on the job, this can include soft washing, controlled pressure washing, specialist treatments, repointing or sealing.
Whether you need a one-off clean or regular maintenance, my aim is straightforward — do the job properly, achieve the best result possible and leave you with a surface you’re genuinely happy with.
If you’d like to discuss your cleaning requirements, get in touch with The Jet Wash Fella for a free, no-obligation quote.

Why Choose The Jet Wash Fella?
Around 20 Years of Hands-On Experience
I’ve been cleaning exterior surfaces for around 20 years, building up practical experience with a wide range of materials, surfaces and cleaning problems.
Over that time, I’ve learned that getting a good result isn’t simply about having a powerful pressure washer. Knowing how a surface should be cleaned is just as important.
The Right Approach for Each Surface
Different materials need different levels of care. Natural sandstone, porcelain, decking, driveways, roofs and commercial surfaces can all require different cleaning methods.
Before starting work, I assess the surface, its condition and the type of dirt or organic growth present. I then choose the cleaning approach that I believe is most suitable for that particular job.
Residential & Commercial Cleaning
I work with homeowners, landlords and businesses, from individual driveways and patios through to larger commercial projects such as car parks and multi-storey sites.
One-Off or Regular Cleaning
Not every customer needs the same service. Some properties need a one-off deep clean, while businesses and homeowners may prefer regular maintenance.
I can provide either, depending on what works best for your property and your requirements.
A Personal, Hands-On Service
The Jet Wash Fella is a hands-on business. I take pride in the work I carry out and believe good communication, honest advice and attention to detail are just as important as the equipment used.
My aim is simple — do the job properly, treat the surface with care and leave you genuinely happy with the result.

The Jet Wash Fella’s Comprehensive Cleaning Services
Roof Cleaning
Your roof is exposed to the weather all year round, so moss, algae, lichen and general dirt can gradually build up and leave it looking tired and weathered.
With around 20 years of experience cleaning exterior surfaces, I understand that roof cleaning needs to be approached differently depending on the type, age and condition of the roof.
I assess the roof before deciding on the most suitable cleaning method. This can include manual moss removal, soft-washing treatments and controlled pressure washing where the roof material and condition make it appropriate.
I don’t believe in simply putting a pressure washer on every roof. For example, most slate roofs should not be pressure washed because excessive pressure can damage the tiles.
If your roof is covered in moss, algae or general dirt, I can assess it and recommend the most suitable way to clean it.

Driveway Cleaning
Driveways take a lot of punishment from vehicles, weather and everyday use. Over time, dirt, algae, moss, tyre marks and other staining can make the surface look tired and neglected.
I clean a range of driveway surfaces including block paving, concrete, tarmac and other suitable paving materials. The cleaning method and pressure used depends on the surface and its condition.
For block paving, I can also offer re-sanding after cleaning where required.
My aim isn’t simply to blast the driveway with as much pressure as possible. I assess the surface first and use the cleaning method I believe is most appropriate for getting a good result while taking care of the surface.

Patio Cleaning
Patios can quickly become covered in algae, moss, grime, lichen and other organic growth, particularly after years of exposure to the UK’s weather.
I clean a wide range of patio surfaces, including natural stone, sandstone, porcelain, concrete, paving slabs and other suitable materials.
Different surfaces need different approaches. Natural sandstone, for example, is much softer than some paving materials, so using excessive pressure can damage the surface. I use cleaning treatments and controlled pressure where appropriate rather than simply turning the pressure up as high as possible.
For heavily weathered patios, I can also carry out additional treatments where necessary to tackle stubborn areas such as black spots and lichen.
If your patio has lost its natural colour and has become dirty, green or weathered, I can assess the surface and recommend the most suitable cleaning method.

Brick & Stone Cleaning
Brick and stone surfaces can become heavily weathered over time, with dirt, algae, moss, lichen and general staining building up on walls, paths, steps and other exterior areas.
With around 20 years of experience cleaning exterior surfaces, I understand that brick and stone need to be treated according to the material, its condition and what needs to be removed.
Domestic Brick & Stone Cleaning
I clean a range of existing brick and stone surfaces, including walls, paths, steps, garden features and other suitable exterior masonry.
Depending on the surface, this can involve specialist cleaning treatments, soft washing and controlled pressure washing to remove built-up dirt and organic growth.
Commercial & New-Build Brick Cleaning
I also have experience working on building sites after bricklayers have completed their work, cleaning newly built properties before handover.
This type of brick cleaning can involve removing mortar snots, small mortar lumps and splashes left on the face of the brickwork, as well as cleaning dried mortar or slurry from the brickwork.
Where required, specialist brick-cleaning products can be used to help remove stubborn mortar residue. Particular care is needed around windows, frames, pointing and other finished areas.
New-build brick cleaning is a very different job from simply cleaning an old dirty wall, and the correct pressure, cleaning method and treatment need to be considered carefully for the brick and mortar.
Whether you need an existing brick wall cleaned or new-build brickwork cleaned as part of a construction project, I can assess the work and provide a suitable cleaning solution.

Timber Decking & Fencing Cleaning
Timber decking and fencing can become weathered, green and slippery as moss, algae, dirt and general grime build up over time.
With around 20 years of experience cleaning exterior surfaces, I understand that timber needs a different approach from harder surfaces such as concrete or paving. Too much pressure can damage the wood, leaving it rough, marked or uneven.
I assess the condition of the timber before cleaning and use a suitable combination of cleaning products and controlled pressure to remove the built-up dirt and organic growth.
I can clean:
- Timber decking
- Timber fencing and panels
- Garden steps and other timber surfaces
- Composite decking
For natural timber, I take particular care with the pressure used so that the surface can be cleaned without unnecessarily damaging the wood. Composite decking also needs the right approach, as different boards and finishes can respond differently to pressure and cleaning products.
If your decking or fencing has become green, dirty, weathered or slippery, I can assess the surface and recommend the most suitable cleaning method.

Car Park Cleaning
Car parks can quickly become dirty and weathered, with oil stains, vehicle grime, algae, moss and general dirt building up on the surface.
I’ve cleaned many different types of car parks, from underground and multi-storey car parks to commercial premises, offices and business sites.
Commercial car park cleaning needs more planning than simply turning up with a pressure washer. Before starting, I look at access to a suitable water supply, how vehicles will be moved to give us access to the areas that need cleaning and, importantly, where the cleaning water will run.
Runoff needs to be considered carefully because car parks are often being used by pedestrians as well as vehicles. I take care to avoid creating unnecessary areas of standing water or causing disruption to people using the site.
Where required, I can also arrange to work outside normal office hours to minimise disruption to your business.
I can clean:
- Underground car parks
- Multi-storey car parks
- Office and business premises
- Retail and commercial car parks
- Residential and apartment car parks
- Other suitable commercial parking areas
Whether you need a one-off deep clean or regular car park maintenance, I can work with you to find an approach that fits around your business and the way your site operates.

Swimming Pool Surround Cleaning
Swimming pool surrounds can quickly become covered in algae, grime, moss, lichen and stubborn black spots, particularly with the damp and changeable weather we get in the UK.
I provide professional swimming pool surround cleaning for a range of surfaces, including natural sandstone, porcelain, tiles and coping stones.
I normally start with a carefully diluted soft-wash treatment to break down algae, grime and organic growth before using controlled pressure washing to clean the surface. The strength of the cleaning solution is adjusted according to the surface and how heavily contaminated it is.
Stubborn black lichen and black spots can sometimes need more than one treatment rather than simply increasing the pressure.
I also take particular care around swimming pools. Wherever possible, I work and spray away from the pool so that loosened dirt and debris aren’t directed into the water.
Care Around Pool Surround Pointing
The pointing between slabs needs particular attention around a swimming pool. Excessive pressure can dislodge pointing and leave sharp edges or loose material sticking up between the slabs, which is especially undesirable around an area where people are walking barefoot.
If the pointing needs attention after cleaning, I can also carry out repointing using traditional sand and cement or a suitable sweep-in jointing product.
Once the surround has been thoroughly cleaned and has had sufficient time to dry, I can also apply a suitable water-based sealant where required.
Whether you need a one-off deep clean or regular maintenance, I can assess your pool surround and recommend the most suitable cleaning approach.

Conservatory Cleaning
Conservatories can quickly become covered in algae, grime and general dirt, particularly on the roof and around the UPVC frames, sills and gutters.
I’ve been cleaning conservatories of all shapes and sizes for around 20 years. I often clean them as part of a larger house or roof-cleaning job, but I also provide conservatory cleaning as a separate service.
I clean a range of conservatory surfaces, including glass, polycarbonate roofing, UPVC frames, sills and gutters.
I don’t simply turn up and pressure wash the whole conservatory. I assess the materials and their condition first, as glass, polycarbonate, UPVC, seals and roofing components can all require different levels of care.
Where appropriate, I start with a good soapy wash using suitable cleaning products to help break down the dirt and algae. Some surfaces can then be cleaned using controlled pressure, while glass and plastics are carefully cleaned and polished afterwards rather than simply being blasted with a pressure washer.
The aim is to leave your conservatory looking cleaner, brighter and better maintained while taking care around the different materials and finishes.

Factory Skylight Cleaning
Factory and commercial skylights can collect dirt, grime, algae and weathering over time, reducing the amount of natural light coming into the building.
I provide skylight cleaning for factories, workshops, warehouses and other commercial buildings, helping to remove the built-up dirt from the outside of the skylights.
Commercial skylight cleaning can involve working at height and around large industrial buildings, so the access, height and condition of the skylights need to be considered before work begins.
I use suitable cleaning methods and controlled pressure according to the type and condition of the skylight, taking care around the panels and surrounding roof areas.
Cleaning can help bring more light back through dirty skylights and improve the overall appearance of the building.
I can arrange one-off cleaning or regular maintenance depending on the requirements of your site.
If your factory, warehouse or commercial building has dirty or weathered skylights, get in touch with The Jet Wash Fella to discuss the job and arrange a free, no-obligation quote.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT JET WASHING AND EXTERNAL CLEANING.
1. What exterior cleaning services does The Jet Wash Fella provide?
I provide a wide range of residential and commercial exterior cleaning services, including driveway cleaning, patio cleaning, roof cleaning, decking and fencing cleaning, brick and stone cleaning, conservatory cleaning, swimming pool surround cleaning, car park cleaning and factory skylight cleaning.
I also provide specialist services such as new-build brick cleaning, repointing and surface sealing where required.
2. What areas do you cover?
I’m based in Crawley and provide exterior cleaning services across West Sussex, Surrey and surrounding areas.
My regular service area includes Crawley, Horsham, East Grinstead, Redhill, Reigate and surrounding towns and villages. If you’re unsure whether I cover your area, just get in touch and I’ll confirm.
3. Do you pressure wash every surface?
No. Different surfaces need different cleaning methods.
Before starting work, I assess the material, its condition and the type of dirt or contamination present. Depending on the job, I may use controlled pressure washing, soft washing, specialist cleaning treatments or a combination of methods.
For example, natural sandstone and older brickwork can require much more care than harder surfaces.
4. What is the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?
Pressure washing uses controlled water pressure to remove dirt, grime and organic growth from suitable surfaces.
Soft washing uses a cleaning treatment at much lower pressure to help break down algae, moss, lichen and other organic contamination before the surface is cleaned.
I choose the method according to the surface rather than using the same approach for every job.
5. Can you clean delicate or older surfaces?
Yes, provided the surface is suitable for cleaning.
Older brickwork, natural sandstone, timber, slate and other delicate materials can require a more careful approach. I assess the condition of the surface before deciding what cleaning method is appropriate.
The aim is to achieve a good clean without relying on unnecessary pressure.
6. Can you remove moss, algae, lichen and black spots?
Yes. These are common problems on many exterior surfaces, including patios, driveways, roofs, decking and swimming pool surrounds.
Depending on the surface and the type of growth, I may use a cleaning treatment followed by controlled pressure washing. Stubborn areas such as black lichen can sometimes require more than one treatment.
7. Do you clean commercial properties as well as homes?
Yes. I work with both homeowners and businesses.
Commercial work can include car parks, factory skylights, commercial buildings, new-build brick cleaning and other larger exterior cleaning projects.
Where necessary, I can also arrange suitable working hours to minimise disruption to the business.
8. Do you offer one-off cleaning or regular maintenance?
Both.
Some customers simply want a one-off deep clean to bring a tired surface back into better condition. Others prefer regular cleaning to keep their property or commercial premises maintained.
I can discuss the options with you and recommend an approach based on the surface and how you use the property.
9. How much does jet washing and exterior cleaning cost?
There isn’t a single price because every job is different.
The cost can depend on the size of the area, the type and condition of the surface, how heavily contaminated it is, access and the cleaning method required.
I provide free, no-obligation quotes so I can understand what is involved and give you an accurate price.
10. How long does exterior cleaning take?
It depends on the size and condition of the job.
A smaller driveway or patio may be completed within a few hours, while larger or heavily contaminated areas can take a full day or longer. Some commercial projects can take several days.
I’ll give you an idea of the expected timescale when I assess the work.
11. Can you provide cleaning, repairs and sealing as part of the same job?
In many cases, yes.
Depending on the service, I can provide additional work such as repointing, re-sanding block paving and applying suitable sealants after cleaning.
For example, I can clean a swimming pool surround and carry out any necessary repointing, or clean a sandstone patio and discuss sealing once the stone has dried properly.
12. How do I get a quote from The Jet Wash Fella?
Simply get in touch and tell me what you’d like cleaned. If possible, send me some photographs of the area, as this can often give me a good idea of what is involved.
For larger or more complicated jobs, I may arrange to visit and assess the work in person.
I’ll then provide a free, no-obligation quote.
